Suggesed uses

  • To help your lungs clear excess phlegm when you have a cold, add 1 drop of frankincense essential oil into a bowl of hot water and breathe in the vapour. Cover your head and the bowl with a towel so that you can breathe in most of the steam – the moist air really helps relieve any nasal congestion that comes along with having a cold. When you find that the scent of frankincense has faded, add another drop into the hot water and continue breathing the vapours for about 10 minutes. Repeat this 3 times daily until the symptoms clear.
    You can do this with children as well, but for infants you can do a milder inhalation session for them by adding 2-3 drops of the oil on the edge of their mattress (where they aren’t likely to touch or have direct contact with) when they go down for their naps.
