3 Thoughts for September 2023

Hi there!

Hope you're keeping well! It's been a while since my last newsletter, as I've been caught up with quite a number of things outside of "work". I'll try to keep this short and snappy :)

We're super excited to bring back our Christmas Warmth soap this year! The last time we had them was in 2021. We'll be starting production very soon, probably the end of this week if all goes well.

For those who are new to Kinder Soaps (welcome!), Christmas Warmth's scent is based off the traditional recipe for mulled wine, which is a warming spiced drink prepared around Christmas, or in winter months to ward off the cold.

We are currently taking pre-orders at a special price: if you purchase 3 bars or more, you'll enjoy RM5 off each bar. That's almost 20% in savings! Valid till 31st October 2023. No coupon needed, the prices will be automatically adjusted in your Shopping Cart.

First batches are expected to come off the curing racks in early November.

We know it's early days still before Christmas comes around, but if you have vague ideas of getting your gifts ready this year, now is a good time to start planning for it.

Let's just say you're comparing a few suppliers for your gifts. Here are some basic things that they'll need to know to help serve you more efficiently:

  1. When do you need your gifts delivered?
  2. What is your budget? Either the total amount you're willing to spend, or the budget per person will be helpful. Offering a range is even better.
  3. What kind of customization do you need for your gift?

On our side, we have a more detailed list of considerations since our soap bars take a minimum of 6 calendar weeks to produce. But we can still do some level of customization, sometimes within days! Read this page for more info.

Photo of beach with white sand, teal blue waters and a bright blue sky. There is a coconut tree leaning towards a jetty that has some small boats tethered to it.
This isn't a stock photo. I took it.

It's hard to believe that a scene so picture-perfect (to the point of being almost cliché) exists in real life, and it's right here in Malaysia (on the east coast).

But we do have the chance to experience a slice of paradise without having to venture too far from our doorsteps. The water was pristine, and there was hardly any rubbish around that I could see. The resort was proactive in keeping the beach and waters clean (there is a tractor used to comb the beach regularly), every room was provided drinking water from a dispenser (no single-use plastic bottles). When we went snorkeling the corals looked fairly healthy and the fish population was abundant.

Black-tipped reef sharks were lazily patrolling the shallows near the jetty among schools of fish.

It was a lovely reminder of what nature can look like, if we paid more attention to caring for how we handle our pollution, and how we mindfully we interact with the environment.

That's it for today. Thanks for reading this far, and if you have any questions, do get hold of us anytime, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. :)

Warmest wishes,
