Teselli - Other Notes

This is the soap which we originally released as a seasonal special for Christmas last year. I formulated this when I was feeling particularly introspective. This explains the name, and as it turns out, the combination of ingredients may be particularly comforting for the skin too. :)

This soap contains essential oils of frankincense (Boswellia carterii) and myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) which are more known to us as two of the three precious gifts that were supposedly offered to the baby Jesus by magi (wise men) in the biblical tale of Jesus' birth. Earliest recorded usage of these plants in skincare have been found from as far back as 5000 years ago, including for the healing of wounds. Modern day science is currently studying frankincense and myrrh as possible treatments for cancer. (Read this brief article as a primer on these two fascinating oils!).

This mellow blend of scents is complemented with tamanu oil, which in itself is a remarkable ingredient in skin care, aiding with healing and pain relief when applied in sufficient amounts.

When we first introduced Teselli, we were experimenting with a special cloth wrap for our soap which could possibly see us abandoning plastic shrink wrapping altogether.
