The Mane Event - Transition Tips

This short article is meant to help those of us dealing with the initial unpleasant waxy feeling in our hair after using The Mane Event for the first, or first few times.

If you have any hair or scalp issues that you think may have been brought on by the use of commercial shampoos (e.g. dandruff, hair loss, very oily scalp), using this soap for just a week won't offer any noticeable changes to your condition. I encourage you to stick to using this bar, or any other all-natural shampoo formulation, for at least a month of daily use, before drawing your conclusions about whether or not it is helpful for your scalp.

There are two things you can do to help fix this right away:

  1. Shampoo your hair twice (double cleanse) by wetting the hair, shampooing, rinsing, then repeat once more.
  2. Use a conditioner.

You should be able to wean off doing the double cleanse after 2-3 weeks, and conditioning your hair could be an optional thing for you.

Make your own fantastic, all-natural conditioner

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tablespoons lemon juice / lime juice / apple cider vinegar
  2. 1 large soup bowl of water (approximately 450ml)

Rinse this through the ends of your hair, and then rinse off thoroughly. You might be surprised with just how light and manageable your hair will be while combing it out.

Adjust the ratio and amount of conditioner according to what your hair needs.

I normally squeeze the juice of 3-4 lemons at a time, and store it in a clean glass jar in the fridge, then dilute them whenever necessary.
